RESEARCH STATION'S LIBRARY

The special library at Opocno builds up and maintains collection of domestic and foreign literature and of other information sources in the area of silviculture. The library holding contains about 9,000 volumes - including books, journals, research reports, standards and electronic documents. Its main task is to collect the entire Czech production concerning silviculture, but the new and interesting foreign titles, in particular Slovak literature, are also included in the library collection.

We subscribe all the Czech forest serials. The serial holding contains also selective Slovak scientific journals. We own Elektronnyj Referativnyj zurnal, section Lesovedenije i lesovodstvo 1990 - 2003 in electronic version, which is an unique bibliographic source in the Czech Republic. Its acquisition was supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in programme LI - Information Sources for Research and Development.

The library provides complete services - lending, information, reference and bibliographic services. Our users have access to own database products and to commercial bibliographic sources as well.
