  5. Pedagogical degree Associate Professor received at the Czech Agriculture University in Prague (newly Czech University of Life Sciences Prague), in 2005.

Research activity:

Since 1981, I have been dealing with research projects in forestry:

  • In 2005 - 2008, leader of the project Forestry management in the Krušné hory Mts. supported by grant agency of the Forests of Czech Republic, state enterprise.
  • In 2004 - 2008, leader of the subproject 06 Thinning of forest stands in changing environment with respect to forest functions included in research plan MZE 0002070201 Stabilization of the forest functions in biotopes disturbed by anthropogenic activity under changing ecological conditions.
  • In 2003 - 2004, leader of the project Forestry management in the Jizerské hory Mts. supported by grant agency of the Forests of Czech Republic, state enterprise.
  • In 2000 - 2004, I was responsible for the subproject 04 Thinning of forest stands in changing growing conditions with respect to forest functions which was the part of the research plan CEZ: M06/99:01 Silviculture in ecotopes disturbed by human activities.
  • In 1995 - 1999, I lead the project Tending of forest stands on the sites affected by anthropic stress.
  • In 1990 - 1994, I was a leader of the research project Stabilisation and development of wood-producing and other functions of forest under the stress of air pollution. Within the framework of the project, I dealt with the subproject Increasing of stability and production of forest stands by thinning.
  • In 1986-90 the project Criteria of silvicultural selection in young spruce stands.
  • In 1981-85, I was solving the research project Increasing of resistance of spruce stands to snow damage.

Membership and cooperation:

  • Deutscher Verband forstlicher Forschungsanstalten. Sektion Ertragskunde (since 2000).
  • IUFRO, division 1 (Working Party 1.05.08) (since 2004).
  • EFI Project Centre ConForest (The question of CONversion of coniferous FORESTs on sites naturally dominated by broadleaves for sustainable fulfilment of society's needs) (since 2004).
